My story…

This cause is special to our family. Our four year old daughter passed away of a brain tumor in June 2009. We would love to be able to keep her name alive and help other families living through these hard times. Some people have to quit their jobs or lose them to stay with their child through treatment. It is sad that during the worst time of your life you have to worry about how you are going to pay your mortgage and other bills. Some are forced to remortgage their house. We were very fortunate and did not have to worry about this but we met so many that were struggling. We would love to be able to offer these families some money from Taya to help them through the hard times.

My name is Taya Elizabeth Cotiga. My dad named me Taya and Elizabeth came from my great grandma. I was born on October 11, 2004, at 10:43 am. I was such a cute baby or so my parents tell me. I have been told many times that my hair was beautiful and I was such a cute little girl. My mom said that I drove her nuts because I needed to be around her all the time, but she loved it. I loved life and had many friends. Everyone was my friend. I owned many dresses and even more shoes. Just a little secret, I could convince my dad to get me anything I wanted. He was a softy when it came to me. My brother BoBo was the best big brother anyone could ever ask for. He always took care of me and played with me. For those of you who did not know me that well, I sucked my finger. No matter how much daddy wanted me to stop, I just could not. I would have broke the habit eventually, I think. I loved school and wish I could have went every day. My life was the best.
